Happy Birthday to the superhero in the house – that’s right, ME! 🎉🎂
As I look back 2 years ago when I first had my 1st baby and then now of being a new mother with a toddler and a fantastic husband, I can’t help but laugh at the wild ride I’ve been on. I mean, who knew that giving birth would make me feel like a real-life superhero, complete with my own set of superpowers?
Remember the pain of childbirth? Oh human! That was an adventure! It’s like a rite of passage where you get to join an exclusive club of people who can endure mind-bending levels of pain and still come out smiling (well, eventually). I mean, I should have gotten a cape and a theme song for that or even a prayer for mothers. 🦸♀️
And then there are the sleepless nights. Those nights when I’ve looked at the clock and thought, “Is this even legal? How can anyone function on such little sleep?” But you know what? I’ve discovered that I have an uncanny ability to function on approximately zero hours of sleep and still rock that mom-bun like it’s a fashion statement. 😂
Despite all the exhaustion and the occasional crazy moments, I wouldn’t change a thing. Because amidst the chaos and tiredness (did I mention the chaos? because there’s a lot of chaos!), there’s an abundance of love, joy, and laughter to be a mother of two. The toddler keeps me on my toes while the new born keeps be guessing and awake as I check if it’s breathing! Somehow I don’t know why I still check even with the experience I think I should be having from my 1st child, but as some mother from Bushenyi said; Every child is different and they come with new blessings and experiences.
But here’s the thing, amidst all the chaos and sleep deprivation, I’ve been incredibly blessed to have the most loving and supportive family. To my wonderful mother and my mother in law, who have been there for me through thick and thin, offering wisdom, comfort, and endless love – you two are my rock and pilars, and I’m so grateful for you both. Then to my amazing siblings and in laws, who have cheered me on, shared in the joy of my motherhood journey, and occasionally babysat ( I can’t thank you enough!), your support means the world to me. Of course he who laughs last… To my husband, my ride or die, my support system and my partner in crime! He hasn’t been just a present father but a friend to the babies. He knows them better than me! Sometimes yes, it’s annoyingly sweet bitter, but what to do…(Nothing) I appreciate you. May the good Lord bless you with all your heart’s desires. To fatherhood.🤍
As I celebrate another year of being an epic mom and an even more epic ME, I’ll raise a sippy cup (because wine glasses are for 2 years back) and toast to the amazing journey of motherhood. As I run different businesses with determination as I sometimes work-from-home and this often includes a baby on one hip, a toddler clinging to on my leg, and a phone in the hand. This season proved to me that you can do it all – just maybe not all at once. It’s wild, it’s unpredictable, and it’s absolutely fabulous.
Happy Birthday to the one who’s rocking gigs of motherhood, business like a pro (even on two hours of sleep) – ME!
Cheers to another year of adventures, laughter, and maybe a few more superhero moments along the way. 🥂💃
