How to Make Deep-fried Cassava

I told you in my last week blog that I started a youtube channel, so here is something in writing, you can head there and watch it by clicking on the link (https://youtu.be/YbWp1I7zMTg )
A step-by-step guide on how to make deep-fried cassava.

Ingredients:
1. 1 large cassava (also known as yuca)
2. Oil for frying
3. Salt to taste

Instructions:
1. Peel the cassava and cut it into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
2. Rinse the cassava strips in cold water to remove any excess starch.
3. Place the cassava strips in a pot of boiling water and cook for about 10-15 minutes or until they are tender. You can test the tenderness by piercing the cassava with a fork; it should be soft but still firm.
4. Drain the cassava strips and let them cool down completely. You can use a paper towel to pat them dry and remove any excess moisture.
5. Heat the oil in a deep-frying pan or pot until it reaches about 350-375°F. You can use vegetable oil, canola oil, or any other oil with a high smoke point.
6. Once the oil is hot, add the cassava strips in small batches and fry until they are golden brown, crispy and cooked through. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan or pot as this can cause the temperature of the oil to drop and the cassava to become greasy.
7. Remove the fried cassava strips from the oil with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain off any excess oil.
8. Sprinkle salt over the fried cassava strips to taste. You can also add other seasonings or spices if you prefer, such as garlic powder, paprika, or cumin.
9. Now you can serve the deep-fried cassava strips hot with your favorite drink. Some popular options include milk tea, black tea or juice.

Enjoy your crispy and flavorful deep-fried cassava!
