I no longer see you yet you are here,
In whispers of wind in echoes so near.
Your laughter still dances within my mind
A melody soft, so gentle, so kind.

I imagine your smile, bright as the sun,
The way you would tackle me just for fun.
Your eyes would light up filling the space,
Turning the ordinary into a warm embrace.

Today, I thank God for your love so true,
For the time we had though it felt too small.
They say our days on earth are planned,
Yet loss still carves wounds unplanned.

But I choose to celebrate not just to grieve,
For your love in my heart will never leave.
Your legacy stands and your lessons remain,
In the prayers whispered, in love’s refrain.

Even your granddaughter with hands so small,
Speaks your name in her prayers each nightfall.
Your picture in her is a gift, a sign and
A comfort that love transcends all time.

So today and always, I cherish you still,
Not just in memory but in love that fills.
