What to Pack in the Diaper bag

Congratulations upon having a bundle of joy.🥰Welcome to the world of thinking for and about a baby! You’ll probably be bringing a diaper bag wherever you and your baby go. However, do you really have whatever you will need in there? It depends on how old your child is, how long you’ll be out, who you are going to meet, where you are going, and how prepared you like to be when packing your bag. It’s helpful to think about different scenarios you may encounter while out with your baby and what you would need to solve them. Talk about a cold, warm or hot weather! My sister calls it “Mary Poppins bag“.

What to pack in your diaper bag

Baby nail clippers: Mum, told me it’s better to cut those nails when the little is sleeping! You never know when your little one will doze off and give you the perfect opportunity to clip those tiny nails. You don’t want to to be with cuts all over your breasts and the little one’s face! If you are a mother like my friend then all you need is your mouth/teeth! I tried this but good Lord! It needs you to have some skill on where to put your teeth! I retired.

Breast pads for nursing moms: Slip these in your bag always! They are life savers ofcourse forget not your a surplus bra ( you will need this when you feel the one you are wearing isn’t comfortable enough)
Make sure the one you are wearing can fit well the pads so to absorb breast-milk leaks. You don’t want to feel uncomfortable because of a wet a dress!

Nursing cover: For privacy when you’re breastfeeding in public. I used to go corners to breastfeed my baby! A cover saved me! Actually you can use one of the sheets and put on your shoulder and the part is covering the baby. There is no distractions for babies which are easier distracted! But if you are my friend who minds not pulls out her breast for the baby to feed! That confidence is for world cup! (Big ups for everyone who can do it. 💖

Insulated cooler bags: This helps in keeping bottles warm, or sippy cups and snacks cold.

Sling or wrap for carrying your baby: Even if you’re heading out with a stroller, you may prefer to park it and transfer your baby to a hands-free carrier if you’re heading into someplace crowded.

Bibs: If you’re planning to give your older baby or toddler a snack or meal, bring a few washable bibs. These help you not to spoil the clothes.

Toys, board books, and crayons and coloring pages or paper: Choose toys based on your outing and your child’s age. A toddler going to a restaurant often requires a lot of entertaining distractions, while a 4-month-old may be happy with one rattle. When you want to eat out, please get a spot that is comfortable for your baby and yourself.

First-aid supplies: It’s good to have some adhesive bandages and other items just in case.
Tissues, Disinfectant wipes, thermometer is a MUST!

If you’re like me who doesn’t like carrying a separate bag, make sure to pack your own essentials, too!
These may include:Wallet, phone(this is my only essential 😂), Sunglasses, Snacks, mints, or gum, a drink (it can be warm water, tea, porridge) it should be something that will help you get breast supply, New dress or shirt in case of spit-up or a spill.
The reason I hate packing too light I normally endup missing something’s like a dress, shirt! So I have realized that you rather pack too much in your “go everywhere bag” than little!

From essentials to extras you can choose the baby’s diaper bag itself since they are always big enough. But please you can put your stuff in a separate side bag so that you are organized.

Please you can share what I forgot to mention.
Thank you always reading. 💕
